CELEBRATING SIX YEARS IN BUSINESS

2025 marks my SIXTH year in business!!! Way back in 2019, I took a leap of faith and started my journey as a virtual assistant. As I celebrate this anniversary, I’m filled with gratitude and excitement to reflect on the incredible journey it has been. Whether you’re a long-time client, a new connection, or someone curious about the virtual assistant world, I want to take a moment to re-introduce myself, share the story of how it all began, and highlight some of the milestones that have defined these six amazing years.

Have we met? A quick (re)introduction.

Hi, I’m Carly, a virtual assistant who specializes in supporting coaches and creative entrepreneurs with general administrative tasks, project management, and more. Over the years, my business, Carlyita Co, has had the privilege of partnering with incredible businesses to help them streamline their operations and reclaim their time so they can focus on what they do best. 

How it all began. 

I never saw myself as an entrepreneur growing up. It wasn’t one of the go-to career choices that stood out to me. 

After falling in love with traveling on my very first international trip, I knew traveling was my passion. I needed to find a way to be able to travel sustainability. I craved working remotely,  so I could travel without the usual routine of saving up all my money for months, take as much time off work as I can, travel until I have $0, come home, save up all my money for months … rinse, repeat.

Up until this point, I had worked in fast food, I had been a barista, I had been in retail, I had even worked as a field hand at a flower farm, picking flowers and making bouquets. All of it, very location dependent.  

I knew that I didn’t want to become an influencer, I wanted something more low-key and behind the scenes. I wanted to put my years of customer service experience and make money from a tropical beach, coconut in hand. Insert Virtual Assisting. 

The perfect solution. In 2019, I took an online course that taught me everything I needed to know about virtual assisting, and it truly changed my life. 

This is my blog and my business and I am going to brag. I’m so fucking proud of myself. SIX YEARS IN BUSINESS!!!!!! Each year has been filled with growth and lessons, making it more beautiful than the last. I’ve been accomplishing my dream of working remotely, and being able to support amazing people, and inspire others to work toward their dreams. So far I have worked from Canada, Bali, New Zealand, Mexico, Ireland and Scotland. That list is going to grow substantially in 2025 and I take Carlyita Co traveling again. 

The Stats: Six years of impact

As I reflect on the past six years, I’m amazed at what this journey has brought. Here are some of the stats that stand out:

• Clients Supported: 18

• Hours Worked: ~4,200+

• Countries Worked From: 6 

• Team Members Hired: 5, although now it’s just me!

• Podcast Episodes Hosted: 53

• Courses Made: 4

• Courses Sold: 34

• Blogs Written: 14 

• Cups of coffee: Too many to count

Lessons learned along the way

Over the years, I’ve learned so much—about business, people, and myself. Here are a few takeaways that have shaped my journey:

1. Relationships are key: This business is built on trust, and I’m grateful for the incredible relationships I’ve developed with my clients. If you’re reading this, I love you. 

2. Flexibility is everything: The VA world is constantly evolving. Being able to stay flexible has been crucial.

3. Celebrate yourself: From small victories to big achievements, every milestone deserves recognition. Treat yourself today whether you signed on a new client or checked something off your to do list.

What’s next for Carlyita Co

I’m more stoked than ever to continue supporting my clients and expanding my impact. The journey is just beginning. In 2025, I am taking my business on the road again.
